    Gok Wan – Made In China

    March 2012: We’ve just finished composing the music for a Channel 4 documentary called, Gok Wan – Made In China. Travelling back to his ancestral home, Gok explores the largely unseen world of Chinese mass production. Visiting the village his father grew up in for the first time, Gok’s journey is also a discovery into how China now produces one in every four man-made objects on the planet. Ultraviolet produced the music using a variety of authentic Chinese instruments including Ruan (Moon Guitar), Guzheng (Zither) and Xiao flute.

    Burberry – Womenswear Autumn/Winter 2012 Show

    February 2012: Once again, Ultraviolet were asked to edit the music at Burberry’s Autumn/Winter catwalk show earlier this month. Widely hailed as the defining collection of London Fashion Week, we edited and remastered the music tracks onsite for the show in London’s Hyde Park.     Deaf Teen, Hearing World

    December 2011: We’ve been busy composing music for a BBC documentary called ‘Deaf Teen, Hearing World’. The hour-long film takes an insightful look into the world of young deaf people, challenging preconceived notions of what it means to have a disability.  Ultraviolet’s brief was to compose a score fusing music with sound design, conveying a sense of sonic isolation that hopefully brings us closer to the subjects of the film. Deaf Teen was directed by Claire Braden and produced by Century Films.

    Man Lab – Series 2

    November 2011:  Man Lab is back for a second series on BBC2, with James May continuing his quest to help a team of average blokes relearn vital lost man skills.  This series features more quirky musical oddities from Ultraviolet, including classical re-workings of the Match of the Day theme tune and Chas & Dave’s 80s classic, Snooky Loopy!  There will also be a special Christmas edition of the show. Man Lab is directed by Tom Whitter and produced by Plum Pictures.

    October 2011: Our latest musical offering is a re-work of the French 60s classic ‘Comment Te Dire Adieu’, for Contrex mineral water. The ad has already gone viral, reaching over ten million Youtube hits since it was first transmitted. ‘Contréxperience’ was directed by Xavier Mairesse for the French agency, Marcel. Ultraviolet recorded and produced the music in association with Schmooze London.

    World’s Most Dangerous Roads

    August 2011: Ultraviolet recently supervised the music for a new BBC series called, World’s Most Dangerous Roads, choosing tracks for this gripping 3-part series, in which celebrities undertake journeys along some of the world’s most perilous routes. Watching two people on a long drive would normally be tedious – except these journeys are treacherous and unpredictable, with some surprisingly emotional outcomes. The first programme follows Charlie Boorman and Sue Perkins as they drive along Alaska’s notorious Dalton Highway. World’s Most Dangerous Roads is produced by Renegade Pictures and will be transmitted on BBC2 next month.

    Tested To The Limit

    July 2011: We’ve just completed the music for an innovative documentary about Portuguese footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo. The hour-long film entitled ‘Tested To The Limit’, follows Ronaldo through a series of rigorous scientific tests designed to measure his skills, strength, agility and mental fortitude. Filmed in Madrid by UK production company Plum Pictures, the documentary will give fans an exclusive insight into what makes Ronaldo one of the outstanding footballers of his generation. Ronaldo Tested To The Limit will be broadcast on Sky Sports this September.
